Every now and then you may need to block specific third parties from accessing your Internet sites. There are a number of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for instance, and create fake visits and traffic. There are also spammers that leave links to shady sites as comments to site articles. This kind of things could drastically undermine your work, simply because nobody likes to visit a site with hundreds of fake comments, plus the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots can create high load on the server where your website is hosted, that could result in the site not working properly. One of the best solutions in cases like this is to block the IP addresses that produce the fake traffic, in order to make certain that the visits to your site are real.

IP Blocking in Web Hosting

Our web hosting come with an IP blocking tool, so if you'd like to restrict the access to your sites, you'll be able to do so with several mouse clicks. The tool is included with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all accounts and that's super easy to use. As soon as you log in and go to the IP blocking section, you'll just need to pick a domain or a subdomain hosted in the account and type the IP address that should be blocked. Our system will enable you to block whole networks too, so if you type 123.123.123., for instance, this shall block all IP addresses between and from accessing your websites. In case you would like to whitelist an IP at some point, you may unblock it with just a click from the same section.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia hosting CP, included with our semi-dedicated servers, will enable you to solve the issue with unwanted traffic very efficiently. It includes an IP blocking tool in which you may add IP addresses with a couple of clicks. All domains and subdomains that you have in the account will be listed in a drop-down menu, so you only need to choose the one you need and then type in the IP address which should be blocked. If you want to block an entire range, a C-class network for instance, you just need to type the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. That shall block all 254 addresses, so you will not need to type in them by hand. Considering that all the IPs that you add in this section will be listed, you could very easily unblock any of them by clicking the Delete button related to the given IP.
